Red stag hunting in New Zealand: the experience of a lifetime.
New Zealand offers the world's best hunting in beautiful scenery and in one of the friendliest, safest countries in the world. It is worth the trip all the way to the South Pacific to see it and experience it. Just ask anyone who has.
Near Palmerston North in the North Island of New Zealand, Kanuka Wilderness is one of New Zealand's best trophy hunting terrains.

High in the hills, the thousands of acres of the Kanuka Wilderness estate offer the hunter an exciting and fair chase hunt in the best of natural New Zealand. Grassy clearings and ridges, bush-clad valleys and streams, provide the perfect conditions for growing and hunting trophy red stags, huge fallow and sika deer, wild rams and goats, even water buffalo.
Clients who have hunted all over the world keep returning to Kanuka for more world class trophy stags and authentic hunting experiences. Their reasons are many but simple: the hunt is challenging and rewarding, the game exceptional, the service friendly and professional, the food fantastic. And you can't beat the experience of staying in a classic hunting cabin on site with the game at the doorstep.

We established Kanuka Wilderness in 1999 after an extensive search for a well located, game-rich, rugged wilderness.
We have developed the property to cater for American and European hunters in particular.
The exciting landscape of 4000 acres has range elevations from 500ft to 2000ft, accessible by foot or quad bike. We offer hunting on mountainous terrain, bush-clad slopes and wide grassy meadows.
The property is rich in many big game species, the jewel in the crown being the red stag.
